Kratt brothers on Today show: Gators, tigers and kinkajous

This morning the Kratt Brothers (Chris and Martin) from PBS’s Zoboomafoo were special guests on the Today show. They brought with them some super cute animals. Watch the video below and see the alligator, Wallaby, kinkajou and two month old baby tiger. So cute! The Kratt brothers are great. Zoboomafoo was the first wildlife program specifically designed for preschoolers. Kathy Lee was hilarious bottle feeding the baby tiger and baby talking to it. She and Hoda Kotb are so entertaining when they get animal visits. It’s too bad the human guests can hardly get a word in, but very funny for us to watch.

Kratt’s Creatures: Kratt’s Creatures introduced its viewers to the world of animals. 50 episodes were produced in total. The show was first broadcast on PBS in 1994, as PBS stations carried the show until as late as 1998. Due to its popularity the show inspired an unofficial spinoff, Zoboomafoo, another show created by the Kratts, which premiered in early 1999.

Today show host, Hoda Kotb:
born August 9, 1964. Both of Kotb’s parents are from Egypt. In Arabic, the name “Hoda” means “guidance”, and is very popular among Arab women. In March 2007, Kotb underwent a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery for breast cancer, and has since become an advocate for breast cancer awareness.  Kotb allowed Today Show cameras to follow her throughout her cancer ordeal and, after she was announced cancer-free, her story was documented on the show.
